Riddlesden Flooding Landslide

This week I reported on flooding in Yorkshire. Six houses had to be evacuated after a landslide caused by flood waters at Riddlesden in Keighley. Parts of their gardens have fallen into the River Aire.

Wakefield Masterplan Live

I reported live from Wakefield on a plan to transform the city centre over the next twenty years. As people do more and more shopping online, the proposals include demolishing old, empty shops to create more public space. There are also plans to limit traffic in the city centre, create more green areas and build more affordable homes in the centre. This sort of development is happening in towns and cities across the country as our habits change.

Post Office Inquiry

I watched the start of a Public Inquiry this week into one of Britain's biggest miscarriages of justice with one of its victims. Hundreds of post office workers were prosecuted for stealing money but the case relied on flawed computer evidence. Some workers were sent to prison, like Harjinder Butoy from Chesterfield who served 18 months for a crime he didn't commit. I felt privileged to watch proceedings from Harjinder's home with him and his family.
