New Neuroblastoma Treatment

I filmed an encouraging story about ground-breaking research in Sheffield which has found that a type of drug already used to treat cancers in adults may help save the lives of children with a high-risk cancer. PARP inhibitor drugs are commonly used to treat breast and ovarian cancer but it’s now been tested in the lab at the University of Sheffield Medical School and shown to be effective at treating high-risk neuroblastoma, a childhood cancer with a low survival rate. The research has been funded by charity Children with Cancer UK.
