I had a lot of fun reporting at the home of retired engineer Stewart Bennison who, every year, makes a light display in his garden at Christmas. Last year there was a Home Alone theme, this year....Narnia!

Hathersage Flood Pub live

I reported live from a lovely, historic pub in the Peak District which has re-opened, eight months after being flooded during Storm Babet. The George in Hathersage is 500 years old and was visited by Charlotte Brontë!

I had a great time reporting at a house at Holymoorside near Chesterfield which has been transformed into a scene from my favourite Christmas film, 'Home Alone'!

Hit and Run Update

I've been to Dronfield to film an update to a story I first covered in February this year. A criminal investigation has reopened after the death of a Derbyshire mum in a hit-and-run in Tenerife. Michelle Exton, from Dronfield, died when she was hit by a white van which mounted the pavement near the resort of Golf del Sur in December last year. Spanish courts have given police permission to resume their investigation after a judge had previously told officers to effectively close the case.

Post Office Scandal

I covered the latest in the Horizon Post Office Scandal and used my mobile journalism kit to interview Harjinder Butoy, the former postmaster who was thrown in jail for a crime he did not commit. I had to work quickly to film the material I needed and then edit it in time for it to be on BBC Look North that evening.

80 year old Postman

I had a very enjoyable day filming a story in the Peak District with Mick Gibson, Royal Mail's oldest postman. He's still working full-time and has no plans to retire. The residents love him. My story was for BBC Look North but it was also used on BBC Breakfast...

I was chuffed to see a story that I'd filmed and edited on my own used on the national news. It took a lot of planning as I contacted the school and several residents in Baslow so I had plenty to film on the day I was with Mick.
