Roma Brexit

Over the last few weeks I've spent time with the Roma community in South Yorkshire to hear how the Brexit vote is affecting them. They told me in Page Hall, Sheffield, and in Eastwood, Rotherham, that they've suffered more racist abuse and are worried they'll be deported once Britain leaves the EU...

  2. I can understand why they feel so vulnerable. It's very sad.

    If Brexit is unsettling for those born here, how much more so for Roma people.

    I hope the news will continue to follow their progress.

  3. I used to live on Eastwood and the majority of romas are not having problems.
    Many i have as friends i go to there birthdays and visit and they to mine.
    There are some that are not happy that are having problems, but where before brexit.
    Pagehall has been a none stop problem and that is mostly down to them.
    As has been in press or just have a walk and you will see why.
    Brexit is being used as an excuse.
