Blind Baking

Can you imagine trying to bake a cake if you were blind? That's what a group of keen cooks in Sheffield do. Volunteers help them use an adapted kitchen with talking microwaves and speaking weighing scales. Now they're desperately in need of new helpers at Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind. I went along to meet the wonderful ladies who are part of the baking club. This story was a real treat to film...

  2. I'm really pleased to report that Sheffield Royal Society for the Blind had a great response after this story was broadcast on Look North. So many people have come forward to volunteer that they're now running a second baking group for blind people - and some of the clients are men as well as women : )
