I've been reporting in Huddersfield at a crown green bowls green where players have broken into their own club after they were locked out by the tenant who says they've no right to be there. Bowls has been played in Newsome for more than a hundred years and campaigners are determined to keep it going - but the leaseholder wants to build houses on the green...

Why does the tenent want houses built? Every place needs green spaces for people to thrive. Greed again - but I can't understand why the tenent is so interested in houses being built when he will not profit from them - or will he?
