It dawned on me when I was assigned this story that in my 36 years of life, I'd never come across a tradeswoman. There are very few female electricians, plasterers and carpenters. It’s thought as few as 1% of plumbers are women. It’s led to a female plumber from Yorkshire setting up the UK’s first register of tradeswomen.
