A cat and dog rescue centre in Yorkshire says demand for its services is higher than ever since the pandemic. Rain Rescue in Rotherham re-homes up to 400 cats a year. There's a particular problem since Covid of stray cats breeding uncontrollably on the streets then spreading feline diseases.
